🎬 How this book works

1
Read the key phrases first.
Each scene starts with 4-6 phrases you need. Say them out loud.
2
Read Roleplay A (full script).
Read both parts — YOU and STAFF. Then read again, this time only the YOU lines.
3
Try Roleplay B (fill the blanks).
Test yourself. Answers are at the bottom of each scene.
4
Check the variations.
Each scene has small tweaks you can use in real life — different orders, numbers, situations.

Final Challenge

Now you've practiced 8 scenes. Try these for real-life mastery:

  1. Pick your top 3 favorite phrases from this book. Write them on a card or save them in your phone.
  2. Practice 1 scene per day out loud — even alone, even in the shower!
  3. Find a friend (or use a voice recorder) and act out a scene both ways: you as YOU, then you as STAFF.
  4. When you arrive in Japan, commit to using at least one phrase per day. Don't be shy — staff love hearing visitors try!
  5. Make your own scene: buying souvenirs, at the bookstore, at the train station ticket machine. Use the patterns you learned.
